Claire Jackson

Authorising Engineer (Water)

Claire has 18 years’ experience in water hygiene undertaking a variety of roles including; legionella risk assessor, water hygiene technician, microbiology laboratory technician, environmental monitoring/water hygiene/microbiology lab team leader, contract manager, senior contract manager and authorising engineer (water).

Claire has been involved in large scale site management from detection of bacterial issues, managing these through to resolution that has involved the development of disinfection plans, management and overseeing disinfection processes, acid descales of hot water cylinders and rebalancing of hot water systems, through to larger scale redesigns and reconfigurations of water systems to ensure rectification and ongoing resolution of bacterial issues including specification development for full replacement plant install for new boosted tanks to replace a gravity fed system, specification for chlorine dioxide systems and specification requirements for upgrades of water softener systems.
 
Claire is experienced in delivery of training courses for general awareness and responsible persons, auditing of PPM systems, auditing of management systems, processes and procedures.  Aiding in the development of written scheme documentation and water safety plans, scald risk assessments and attendance at water safety groups.
 
In addition Claire has been actively involved in composition of case study articles published in both the IHEEM Health Estates Journal and the Water Management Societies Waterline Journal.

Ben Jinks

Water Hygiene Specialist

Ben has 17 years’ experience in the water industry being a qualified plumber since 2007 and moving across to water hygiene and water treatment in 2008. The most recent 10 years of Bens career has predominantly been focussed on the healthcare sector.
 
Ben hold qualifications and experience in risk assessments, plumbing, cooling towers and holds a current G3 unvented qualification.
 
Ben has extensive experience in carrying out plumbing works of all sizes from TMV replacements, replacement of flexible hoses with fixed copper piping, deadleg removal, decommissioning of unused areas, clean and disinfection duties both locally and systemic to larger scale project works including system alterations, mains bypasses, building regulations upgrades inclusive of bylaws 30 upgrades, replacement of incoming mains supplies from point of water meter to building incoming stop valves, large scale pipework reconfiguration following system redesign due to large scale bacterial issues, Installation of automated flushing systems and anti-legionella valves.

Letitia McIntyre

Microbiologist/admin support

Letitia has 20 years’ experience as a microbiologist in the environmental, pharmaceutical and medical device industries encompassing, site work, laboratory analysis, reporting and interpretation.
Her career in the water hygiene field has spanned several roles including microbiology laboratory technologist, microbiologist, legionella risk assessor and environmental monitoring/microbiology lab team leader.

Letitia is experienced in Legionella Risk assessments of small industrial and commercial units and taking and analysing samples for Microbiological and chemical testing as appropriate.
Letitia’s recent experience has included microbiological incident non conformance investigation and resolutions, the preparation and validation of standard operating procedures and microbiological validation schemes as well as tracking and trending relevant data.
